Face Long Commutes With a Smile: Here’s How.

How long is your commute? For many people across the country, especially in big urban centers, travel time to and from work can be more than an hour each way. This is especially true with public transportation. In our Catalyst Management office, we seek ways to be more productive on our rides to work. Here’s what we can do:

• Do Work: We’re flexible around the Catalyst Management office, and that means we learn to work wherever. Longer train or subway rides can provide us with ample time to catch up on emails, read industry journals, or even work on projects without office distractions that can bog us down. In a car, we can use AudioNotes to record our daily agenda or for dictation.

• Relax and Enjoy: There’s nothing wrong with using our commutes to rest up before and after a long day. On a train or subway, provided we have headphones, we might watch a favorite TV show or movie, listen to music, or even a book on tape.

• Be Sure to Stretch: Travelling can be detrimental to our well-being, in particular if we maintain a certain position for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, frequent movement is essential to prevent adverse impacts on joints and muscles.

We’re always finding opportunities to be productive at Catalyst Management.
